Visited over the holidays, excellent climbing hall. Great facility. Training area with finger boards and weights was also top notch. Big kid's area. Shower area and changing room is a bit small during peak hours, but that's just me nitpicking. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll be back.
Great little bouldering location in Bonn, good mix of international people climbing. Grips however are always dirty/greasy and the bouldering hall is a bit dirty. Cafe and changing rooms are great though 👍 …
Good bouldering gym and I especially love that they are partnered with the "Boulder's Habitat" in Bonn Beul since with one membership someone can go to both and get more out of it.
The Staff are really friendly and helpful and overall great.
They have roomy changing rooms with lockers and keys you can use (they cost 1/2 euros but you get the money back when you put the key back) the bathrooms are also clean.
The routes are fun and great to do although the gaps between the levels are quite large which can make it difficult to choose a route since within a level there is a large variety in difficulty. There is also a random level where the routes range between any difficulty, a lot of reviews mention this negatively but I found it incredibly fun to just try and see what I can get.
Otherwise I also love the couches in the area to sit and relax between climbs, the kids area is nice as you don't have to worry about them getting in the way as they often aren't great at keeping their distance while climbing.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not five is the Lack of an Air conditioning. My regular gyms in the Netherlands both have an air conditioning system which makes bouldering during the summer much more barrable. There are one or two floor fans which are turned on but when its 35 degrees outside that is not nearly enough and I would really not recommend climbing while its warm outside. I really think this needs to be addressed as it makes the place only usable in the evening or early morning during the summer.
Do not recommend this gym. All-in-all I cannot give more than three stars, as what actually matters most was not satisfying at all... Context: We are by no means pro climbers, and are mostly climbing on the medium difficulties. However, this was the first gym I was actually "afraid to fall", either because my feet were slipping like crazy or because I struggled with the hard mat flooring.
Pro's: Friendly staff, easy signup, nice changing rooms and bathrooms, good quantity of routes
Negative's: Hard mats, very greasy/slippery handles (especially footholds), little space, no real warm-up area, too few difficulty levels (with one random one...?)
In general is cool climbing gym with a nice route setting and friendly staff, however better cleaning could be done on the holds as many people has commented already. Greasy holds totally changes the experience. Also the mats could be softer.
Friendly personal, nice bouldering and good coffee!
